Mike and Gwen are children of the 50s & 60s, lovers of the 70s and survivors of the 80s with an appreciation of the 90s and 00s. Mike grew up with a father who supplied Juke Boxes with records as a part of his profession and Mike entered into a framing business in the 80s. Gwen grew up with a passion for all types of music, movies, television, comics, books and pop culture “thingies”. We bring this vast array of grooviness together at For The Record inside Northgate Mall.
While we certainly don’t pretend to know everything, we are continually learning. We constantly read, watch, and listen to things while also attending concerts and conversing with those wiser than ourselves to learn more about the music, entertainment and pop culture world.
We opened our business at Northgate Mall in Chattanooga, TN in November of 2008 using a “kiosk” area in the center of the mall, close to J.C. Penney. In October of 2009 we expanded by moving to a spacious store in the mall, across from Burlington.
You are cordially invited to drop by to see us, listen to a few discs and get acquainted. Hours of operation are regular mall hours, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. See you soon.
